I was reading a newsletter from Southeastern Drivers Company Council (ASLEF) and they warn of dark days ahead. They say the franchise is fast running out of money, and because of job cuts and changes to the drivers diagrams and rosters, this is going to affect drivers from December.Every roster is under established, some don't even cover known commitments for annual leave, sickness, training or higher grade duty. Even walking times are being cut.(Walking from a mess room to a point of work). They warn of total contempt for drivers, and heading back to the dark days of Connex. They also advise that drivers are to expect sharp practices from managers with the daily and weekly rosters(duties),ad hoc leave being declined and a 'winter of discontent'.
I know many drivers are waiting to see what happens in December, lets all hope the Drivers Company Council are wrong and everything runs smoothly.
Don't hold your breath.
Vinnie.
