Well,
I was on the 20:33 from Victoria to Rainham just now. All was going well; a pair of seats to myself, the toilet near me worked, no idiot with his music on full blast.
And then a rocking that I've not ever felt on a train (Just before Kent House)
Strong braking (not quite emergency) later and we are at a stand still.
Our conductor comes online after a few minutes to apologise for the delay.
Our conductor informs us that the driver thinks we've hit something. He's going to check.
Another announcement that we are delayed.
And another (I can see the driver checking the tracks by me)
We then simply set off!
We were only delayed by about twenty minutes.
As our conductor passed I asked her what we had hit. Turns out that it was wood placed on the tracks (by some brainless idiots!)
I'm 99.9% angry with the idiots who put the wood on the track.
However, I don't understand why we were not told what had happened after the event and why I had to ask?*
I just can't believe that idiots want to de-rail trains. :-(

* (1 hour later reflection) The train staff did everything right. We were safe and the train crew checked everything. However - please let us passengers (sorry, customers) know what has happened.
