Dear All,
Sorry, this was two weeks ago and I should have posted it sooner.
Anyway, I have to give Paul a thumbs up for actually being available and approachable.
However...
I mentioned that no one, that I'm aware of, in the Medway Towns who use SE Trains to get to work in London want to use the fast link. I mentioned the 33% extra cost and the fact that we all work in The City/'South' London. I also mention my 10% increase in Season Ticket price.
Paul's reply was that the original plan was to cut the rush hour trains to just two. The plan now is only to just get rid of one. (and the tone suggested that I should be grateful with this!) I did mention that every train is full and that standing is an issue both from Chatham and back from Cannon Street/London Bridge.
To cut a long story short, we disagreed. He simply listened to everything I said and then ignored it.
As far as I can see, the High Speed link is a political issue. The govt need to see it used and so it will be.
Sigh.

Oh yes - and that the high speed link to St. P 'will create jobs'... Yup, I can just see how jobs will be created for SE Trains users in north London...

Considering his tiny majority (254) I don't imagine that Mr Clark will be around for all that much longer.

Dear NoOnions
Paul Clark - on message...
Let's be honest, if there were jobs near St Pancras then they would have been filled by those commuting from north of London who presently crowd the tube platforms trying to get to the City and West End.
Yours sincerely O.V.S.Bulleid
