During these 4 days high speed services will be mostly withdrawn from Margate & Ramsgate. Obviously they can do it but I am surprised that the terms of Southeasterns franchise allow them to arbitrarily withdraw a service like this to suit themselves.

Obviously they can do it but I am surprised that the terms of Southeastern's franchise allow them to arbitrarily withdraw a service like this to suit themselves. They can't. They'll have got DfT permission for this. Knowing how many people will want to watch the golf, and how bad, despite recent improvements, the roads to Sandwich are, it's in everyone's interest to encourage as many people as possible to go by train.
