So today was another Meet the Managers session at St pancreas,
My main gripe was the incredible increases in fairs, which I fully expected them to immediately apologise and offer a full refund and reverse it next year, but instead I got a pre-recorded PR reply! Who'd have thought it?
Ahem. I asked what they were going to o to keep price increases under control, however, all I got is the usual "It's not our fault' excuses.
Yes, I know - the franchise agreement allows them to increase by RPI + 3% accross the network on average, and that they are encouraged to pay for more of the 'improvements' via ticketing. (30% subsidy, 70% ticket revenue with a view to 100% being ticket revenue).
Also they said that actually during the 90s the ticket prices were actually GOING DOWN as it was RPI -1% and they had so few targets hit that they ended up giving us between 5% and 10% discounts on the season tickets.
How here's the thing: Arent we paying for these 'improvements' by using high speed one and paying 30% more? What about them reducing their operating costs?
Franchise agreement is broken, unfair to passengers!
