Hi, Does this bother anyone else, or am I the only one? If I wanted chewing gum/dirt/dust/etc. on my clothes, I'd just sit on the floor instead! Why do people feel it's their right to wipe their feet on the seats rather than keeping them on the floor like any other normal, civilised human being? Yet another american import! What can be done about this to stop it? Apparently it is against railway byelaws, but it seems like nobody wants to police it. Suggestions anyone? Richard

Yes it does, along with long, noisy mobile calls, people using the train as an office, people who can't share armrests, people who want all the space for their feet, shall I go on? ;D

Totally agree. At the risk of getting stabbed I firstly glare at and then politely ask offenders to remove their feet from said seats. So far all have obliged without violence.
Maybe I am scarier than I thought?

Maybe I am scarier than I thought? Cel x You'll have to post a photograph, and then we can all cast our vote...! I'd imagine you don't look half as bad as me though, I'm 237 years old in 12 days time! I gave up on blowing out candles a few decades ago.... Richard

My dear Gorgeous Celestine, I tend to travel with a pair of false teeth about my person which I sureptitiously slip in to my mouth, and then I start smiling and salivating. Most effective, I must say - and you get a whole table to yourself. The link will show the various styles available - "Summer Teef" are the particular beauties I employ. www.drbukk.com/bukkstyles.html#McKoyanchorIt is most satisfying on a rush-hour train returning from London to sit opposite one those types we all love - the cove with his lap top, and then to start grinning inanely and dribble. Wishing you a splendid weekend, I remain, dear lady, Yours, &c., H.A.I.
