Any guesses what will happen tomorrow? Will we all get to work or will Mother Nature grant us a lie-in? With the news talking about ghost-trains keeping the lines clear and only a few flakes of snow so far I'm betting I'll be at Rainham Station for the 06:29 tomorrow - boo! I want a lie-in and to work from home! ;D

If there's lots of the white stuff, I'm gonna try and catch the 0646 Sheerness to Sittingbourne train, if there are no trains running, then I'll try to get a bus - if by some miracle sheer bad luck there are no buses, then I will make my way home. I'm not walking 10 miles to work!

Going on past performance Brought the laptop home and will look forward to a lie-in not standing at Rainham station for ages in the cold just to see if a train turns up.

Well, we now have over an inch of snow in Rainham, so far. Also an electrical storm! I was on the phone to my parents in West Malling and the lights were diming at exactly the same time (we are about 20 miles away!) My UPS's are working overtime! I'm going to try for a later train and see what happens! Good luck all! NoOnions

Trains seem to be running but are delayed - although both the journey planner link on the SET website and the same thing on National rail enqs are both utterly useless. I do wonder at why, in this day and age of GPS and the internet, quite why it is so hard to provide information. Would it be too much of a fantasy to imagine some application/internet site showing a map of Kent and where the train you are waiting for now is?

That's strange - I wonder what happened by the time they got to Gillingham!

Not all of them. The 6.38am from Faversham was late leaving. Although the train turned up on time it was not allowed to leave until the delayed Victoria on the other platform left. Then we were delayed further as we had to wait for a hi speed to come in and leave.
This would have definately been late into Rainham. The knock on effect of this meant we were 25mons late arriving into Cannon St on what was a short formed train. Yippee (not)

So yet again, this pathetic excuse for a train operator has cancelled all services from Ashford. I have 2 very sad boys who are disappointed that they won't be going in to London to see Avatar.

The 6.23 from Faversham was only a couple of mins late getting in, but was then waiting around for 10-15 for a 'relief driver from Dover' to turn up. I assume he was needed further up the line and had car/road problems.

Apparantly the missing driver for the 6.23 Faversham normally comes in on what was the missing 4 car Cannon Street service.

I don't know about today, but over the weekend the High Speed services seemed to be running fine, and any passengers were being taken on there without the High Speed supplement. Although yesterday when Eurostar gave up, I understand it did get quite busy, as they simply dumped their passengers onto South Eastern. Maybe Eurostar are more like an airline than they realise. You people are lucky to have a train service, the Sheerness Line has had no trains running since late Friday evening, the last train from Sheerness was the 2132 service to Gillingham. Since then the entire service has been cancelled because of a signalling problem at Swale which, up to today, still hasn't been rectified according to the Southeastern website, the SET employee at Sheerness said this morning that they aren't going to risk moving the points at Sittingbourne as it could cause problems for the main line services.
Surely we season ticket holders are eligible for a discount for all this disruption?
Thanks Ryan

...and there is an ugly rumour up here that GoVex are pushing Kent commuters towards Chavline Trains to push up the loadings - as they have been little used to date.
This has come from more than one location so if it is true then it is most cynical of them.
This company should give up the franchise without delay as they seem to be both irresponsible and unreasonable.
Yours sincerely O.V.S.Bulleid

Fun and games tonight getting home from London (Cannon Street to Rainham). I went for the 17:08 and it was completely packed - standing room the whole length of the train. I was told that the 16:46 was cancelled, as was the 17:30. We even had people banging on the windows and doors to try and get people to move down, not that there was much space to do so.
Metro services were badly affected, with trains from 15:00 not yet left.
To top it all off SE Trains are running a Saturday service tomorrow!! I'm assuming that means no Cannon Street services!
